Building a Better Block.

Better Block Bertrand changed the way we think of living in Lafayette.

What if some of the four lanes were traded out for two lanes? We'd have space for sidewalks ... big sidewalks. And bike lanes. And trees. And crosswalks.

And people would say hi instead of drive by. We'd feel inspired to stop and maybe shop, stretch out on the lawn or open a store of our own.

Better Block made it happen in one day on Bertrand Drive, the perfect connection between UL's athletic complex and our new park at the horse farm.

Thanks to everyone who made it happen. You showed the community what it's like to truly live, love Laf.
